Shockwave Therapy

At CPM, we provide a high-quality shockwave therapy service for the management of a wide range of musculoskeletal (MSK) injuries. This advanced treatment is delivered as part of our evidence-based physiotherapy approach, helping to reduce pain, promote healing, and restore function in patients with both acute and chronic conditions.

Shockwave therapy, also known as extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT), uses high-energy acoustic waves to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes. Shockwave therapy is non-invasive, clinically effective, and supported by evidence-based guidelines, including those recommended by the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy. Treatments are typically delivered over a short course, with measurable improvements often seen within a few sessions.

At CPM, shockwave therapy is commonly used to treat:
  • Tendinopathies (e.g., Achilles, patellar, rotator cuff)
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Tennis elbow
  • Calcific shoulder tendinopathy
  • Chronic soft tissue injuries
We deliver individualised treatment plans, combining shockwave therapy with rehabilitation exercises, manual therapy, and education. This integrated approach enhances outcomes by not only addressing symptoms but also improving strength, mobility, and function.

We also focus on outcome monitoring and progression, using validated measures to track improvement and adapt treatment as needed. Our goal is to reduce pain, accelerate recovery, and enable patients to return to their normal activities as quickly and safely as possible.
